I have a solution in place, so it's not a serious problem, but my wife asked me why her sound has been so quiet. She used to be able to put an audio cd in and listen to it while in any of the upstairs rooms. I checked the audio devices and set everything to the highest levels and it was still too quiet (about like my laptop, same make and model with headphones plugged in but just sitting on the desk). A world of ice and fire mod targaryen. So I plugged a pair of unpowered speakers in. It was marginally better, but only audible if sitting right in front of it.I set up a pair of pretty large powered speakers and they were loud enough that she had to turn them down a little. But she never used to need external speakers, so I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas. Kudzu9-I didn't see your suggestion before my last post.
I just tested that and it's just another way to change the volume. If I set it all the way down using the Fn-F11, then look in control panel, the volume slider is all the way to the left.I haven't tried any headphones, but they're basically just another variation of an unpowered speaker, so my expectation is that they'd be pretty much inaudible. Since she wants to use the laptop to play audio books while in several rooms, headphones wouldn't be useful to her anyway.

PC Sound Too Quiet? - How to Make All PC Sounds Louder 2017.I am not responsible for any loss of data, PC issues, broken headsets or speakers etc, as of uploading this video this method is 100% safe and secure.I only recommend increasing the volume by 10 at first, don't increase it too much or you are at risk of breaking your sound output, you take full responsibility for your actions.Software (Please subscribe if this helps, thank you!) -Software (32bit) -(3rd one down on the list) I haven't tried the 32 bit version so I am unsure if it will be the same setup but it should be.
If the sound volume on your Windows computer has become too low, here are some possible solutions that you can use to fix the problem. The issue may be caused due to a software or it could be hardware-related.
Windows comes with some essential settings that need to be perfect to get good sound quality. If your computer volume is too low on Windows 10/8/7, follow these steps and see if anything helps you fix that issue. Computer sound volume too lowGo through the list and then decide which of the suggestions you’d like to try first.1 Update the Audio driverThis is probably the first thing that comes to our mind.
Whichever sound system you are using it is imperative that you have the latest device drivers installed on your computer. You may use a third-party or better still, you may use the tool for your brand of PC like say, HP Support Assistant, etc. You will probably see these utilities pre-installed on your system.2 Clean speakers physicallyIf you have been using the same speaker for a long time, there might be dust on it, which often blocks the sound from playing smoothly. Check if your speakers are clean from the inside as well as outside.
If not, make it clean and test whether it is giving better performance or not.3 Check with another deviceIf you are getting this problem with a Bluetooth speaker or a wired speaker that comes with a woofer, you should connect that device to another device so that you see if the problem lies in your computer or the speakers itself.4 Communications settingsThis is an inbuilt that helps users get better audio when you use your computer to place or receive phone calls. It can reduce your sound by up to 100%. Open the “Sound” settings window. You can search for that in taskbar search box if you are using Windows 10.
Otherwise, right-click on the volume icon in your system tray and select Sounds. After that, switch to Communications tab. Here, make sure Do nothing is selected. If not, select that option and save your change. 5 Loudness EqualizationThis is another setting that you need to check. If this option is not activated, you will hear comparatively lower volume.
Again open the “Sound” settings. In the Playback tab, select the playback device and hit the Properties button.
After that, go to Enhancements tab. Select Loudness Equalization and save your changes.6 Increase Media Player soundSometimes, even if you increase the volume using the volume icon in your system tray, you will end up getting a very low sound. That’s because two different volume levels work when you play an audio track, i.e., Speaker’s volume and the Media Player’s volume.
Even if you increase the speaker’s volume, the media player uses the same volume level. There are two ways to increase that media player’s volume. First, you can open the media player you are using and check if the volume level is set to 100% or not. Second, you can open the Volume Mixer from the system tray, and do the needful.7 Audio TroubleshooterPress Win+I keys to open Windows Settings and go to Update & Security Troubleshoot. On the right-hand side, you should find Playing Audio. Select it and click on Run the troubleshooter button and follow the on-screen instructions.Hope these suggestions will be helpful to you to fix your problem.

I have been plagued for over a year with a problem on my Lenovo T420 laptop: the internal speaker volume is ridiculously low. The problem is acutely felt when trying to listen to a Facebook or YouTube video even while sitting in a quiet room — I have to strain my ears to make out what is being said. Or when sharing a DVD with friends or family without external speakers. As I said, not enjoyable at all.I was therefore happy to see that solved my problem:Try the following (courtesy of infinus):To make your speakers louder, right-click the speaker icon in the right bottom corner of your screen playback devices speakers properties enhancements check loudness equalization. This will help make your speakers somewhat louder.Sure enough, when I opened speaker icon Playback Devices Speakers Properties Enhancements dialog, I found the “Disable all enhancements” option checked. Unchecking this and checking the Loudness Equalization option improved the internal speaker volume problem immediately:I am a happier person signing off this blog entry tonight! Hi,I was wondering if you could tell me what is wrong with my Lenovo L440 ThinkPad speakers. Awhile ago I noticed that the volume on my internal speakers is lower than usual despite being set up on loudest.
Pc Speakers Too Quiet
I tried figuring out where is the problem and found out that only right speaker is not working (left is all good), I tested it later in Playback Devices and it was confirmed. What can I do to fix this by myself or do I have to get it fixed? I am not so good with computers but would like to give it a try myself if there is an easy solution. Thanks in advance 🙂Kiara.
